Song of the Day – Day 3 – Fleetwood Mac – Go your own way
Sorry I know we should be on day 4 but I had a busy day yesterday and didn’t have the energy to write when I got home. Plus, Walking Dead was on so I had to watch that. I am going to do day 3 and 4 today to keep on track.
Today’s song it Fleetwood Mac Go your own way, this song was released in 1976 so around the time of most of my favourite songs, it was on the 1977 Rumours album which is classed as one of the greatest albums of all time. The song is interesting because it is actually about Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham who were a couple and both in the band at the time of release. Which meant they had to sing it together all the time about each other. Awkward?
Here are the lyrics:
Loving you
Isn’t the right thing to do
How can I ever change things
That I feel
If I could
Maybe I’d give you my world
How can I
When you won’t take it from me
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
Another lonely day
You can go your own way
Go your own way
Tell me why
Everything turned around
Packing up
Shacking up is all you want to do
If I could
Baby I’d give you my world
Open up
Everything’s waiting for you
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
Another lonely day
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
Another lonely day
Another lonely day
You can go your own way
Go your own way
You can call it
Another lonely day
You can go your own way
You can call it
Another lonely day
You can go your own way
Imagine singing this with your partner every night!
