Who has the better operating system?

Microsoft has been very user friendly since Windows 3.1 back in the early 90’s.

Apple hasn’t always been user friendly but it became very friendly later in it’s life.

Linux

Linux, created by Linus Torvalds became the point & click user friendly version. It was a cross between Microsofts user friendly systems and the not so friendly Unix.

Unix was originally only for geeks and command-line lovers.

Lets move to more modern computers now. Windows has a tendency to get viruses and bugs and requires constant updates. If you use Windows and you have automatic updates turned on you will find that Windows will update itself at least 3 times per week if not more. Apple’s OS-X might update 2-3 times per month. Why, we ask, quite simply because, Apple got it right the FIRST time. I have used everything from Windows, to Linux, to Unix, and now I have a MacBook Pro. This is the best laptop I have ever had. I have found that the Mac operating system is faster than Windows. OS-X Doesn’t require an anti-virus but it is recommended that if you are going to use your Mac for any type of heavy downloading.

Apple computers are much more expensive than Windows based PC’s, but computer manufacturers using Windows make up for their cheaper computers by charging outrageous prices for the Microsoft software. Most software that people need on a computer is free with OS-X. There are some programs that you must pay for if you need something special. In Linux there are over 100,000 software programs available for free, which is a big PLUS to Linux.

The fastest full operating system I have found is Puppy Linux. If you want the fastest operating system though you will need to switch completely, and use Linux. If and when you don’t need a full operating system and only want to use a computer for surfing the web then Just Browsing Linux is the best and fastest operating system I have found. Whatever operating System you prefer, they are all very helpful in these days of modern technology, but if you use Windows, Make sure to keep your anti-virus up to date on a daily basis. If you use an anti-virus in OS-X make sure to update it once-in-a-while. If you use any variety of Linux, well, then don’t worry about it because you are very safe unless you log in as ROOT. If you are a Linux user then you know what damage you can do to your operating system by logging in as root.

Have a great day
