Not only do I love eating okra but I also love cooking it. You can prepare a bunch of recipes with okra, however my favorite one happens to be crispy okra.
All you need is spare approximately 15-30 minutes of your time.
As for the ingredients you need about 12-14 okra, depending on how big is the size of your frying pan. Then you need about 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon chili powder (increase it if you love spicy food), 1 tablespoon wheat flour and salt as per your taste.
Method-
Slit the okra vertically into two equal halves, after you wash them with water.
Next add the turmeric powder, chili powder, wheat flour and salt in the proportion mentioned above. Leave it aside for 5 minnutes.
Then take a frying pan and after it heats up, you have to add 1 teaspoon oil. Next place the slit okra on the pan and fry for about 5-7 minutes i.e. till they turn crispy. After 5-7 minutes, on the top side add an another teaspoon of oil i.e. before you flip the top side.
Once the lower side gets fried, you got to flip the okra to the opposite side and then fry the other side for another 5-7 minutes. Be careful that you do not burn them and hence preferably fry it on a medium flame.
Once done, take it off from heat and serve it hot. It can be eaten as a snack or a starter. You can also serve it as veggies with your rice.
This recipe is one of the simplest recipes to use okra and also does not take much of your time. Also this does not imply that there is any compromise made in the taste.
