“Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he restedon the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Exodus 20:8-11
Remember, a word God used because people tend to forget. God is telling us to do our work for six days but the seventhday is a Sabbath to the Lord our God. He too, created everything in six days then in the seventh day, He stopped creating, rest, blessed and sanctified the seventh day.
God doesn’t feeling tired after creation but He chose the Seventh day for Him where His people stopped working and set this day to worship Him. In this day, we come to His presence, the Holy God and blessings come upon us for this day is a blessed day. It is sanctified. God never sanctified other days but only the Seventh day and we call this day in our time, Saturday.
Saturday, the seventh day of the week is a special day. it is God’s chosen day for His people. Don’t forget the Seventh Day.
As human, we need rest. It’s not good to overwork ourselves. What is the use of overwork if we die today? All our earnings will be gone and we cannot even bring them in our graves. We only bring our soul to God but what if our soul doesn’t know the God of Sabbath? From sunset of Friday to sunset of Saturday is the day of celebration to God.
Remember the day, the seventh day. Stop thinking and working but welcome the day of gladness and praise to the God Almighty. His blessings will pour on us on His Sabbath Day.
