TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROAD – JOHN DENVER
Now this is a song that everybody in the world knows, well maybe not everyone in the world but I would say most people at least and pretty much everyone in America and the UK.
It was released in 1971 by John Denver on his Poems, Prayers and Promises Album. It was a big success reaching number 2 in the US Billboard chart, and number 3 in the Canadian charts. Unfortunately it didn’t chart in the UK at the time but that’s not a huge surprise as it is a country song, which wasn’t so popular here in the 60s and 70s.
