Graphically attractive resume can get attention of the recruiter, not to mention that it looks way more professional. Today we would like to show you, that you don’t need paid graphics programs or even their free versions that you may not be able to handle to prepare an aesthetic resume.
There are some jobs, that don’t require knowledge in this field and it’s completely normal, that you feel slightly overwhelmed, checking out sample resume on the internet. Relax: you can use popular and commonly used MS Word to prepare an aesthetic CV – and it’s not as hard as it might seem!
Pick one of the ready templates
In MS Word, you can find some examples of documents with fonts, text formatting and colours already set. What is more, you can adjust them to your needs. Many actions are possible, including changing of the font, inserting graphics, formatting the text in a different manner and many more.
This is an easy option for those, who are not well acquainted with the MS package. Making the changes isn’t hard and a basic knowledge of Word is enough to prepare a really attractive resume.
How to insert graphics?
The graphics can be inserted into your resume in multiple ways in MS Word. Remember to use a high quality photo – otherwise, it will not look good in the document. Also, it might be a good idea to choose a picture in colors corresponding to the appearance of the entire resume.
You can give the photo the right size with your computer mouse or by picking specific dimensions in the settings. Keep in mind, that most of the graphic fragments of the CV can be adjusted to meet your needs, including the default ones.
Format you text
MS Word is one of the best choices when it comes to text formatting. Different sizes and types of the font, arrangement of paragraphs and many other setting allows you to prepare a truly professional resume.
Keep in mind to not overdo it. Your resume is supposed to catch attention of the recruiter, but not ‘jump’ on him with amount of colours and theoretically ornamental elements that become simply kitschy in excess.
As you can see, Photoshop or other graphic programs aren’t a ‘must have’ when it comes to preparing an attractive resume. Actually, preparing it in Word is way easier, so everyone should be able to do it on their own.
