Do we really need to strengthen our good relationship with other people?
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
-Leo Buscaglia
In such a busy world, we are all become too busy listening to the siren songs of our own life. We forget to keep in touch with people we care and care for us. We simply replace relationships with material things like getting hooked on acquiring gadgets to fill our time, watching movies or television shows. One of the huge tests of keeping a relationship comes from the truth that we want to have it because of something we can get from it. It is like we just want someone to make us feel good and gives in to our expectations. In truth, if you want to be in a relationship that we wish to last we have to accept the fact that it is a kind of process that we also need to give and not always take.
Indifference and neglect make the relationship sour in the long run. If we truly value our relationship with other people, we will always do something to nurture it. There are a lot of ways and we can take it as a growing plants the need sunshine and water. Our relationship with other people also need something like those.
We do at times fall on a trap looking for someone who can complete us. The thought of “you complete me” gets over our head that we tend to forget that it is much better to find someone whom we can share our completeness. Relationships are bound to fail when someone grows rapidly while the other one is just standing still. It is fine to argue but holding your hands together can spell the difference.
