1. Stay hydrated: Doctors generally say that we should drink about eight glasses of water a day. Now we know that you do not need to drink eight glasses of water, but drink water only after meals and whenever you feel thirsty. Drink more if you exercise in hot weather.
The only people who cannot rely on thirst to drink water are young children and the elderly. It is because the thirst mechanism in them does not work well and they have to remember to drink. You might be aware that the body is made of water and needs it to run smoothly. Other water sources are vegetables, fruits, soup and tea.
2. Wash your hands with soap and water preferably using soap for at least fifteen seconds. A number of studies have shown that washing hands with soap and water removes more than 90% of the microbes that cause infections that affect our health. Always wash your hands after using the bathroom, touching someone who is ill, and when you cook, particularly when you handle unwashed vegetables and raw meat.
3. Use sunscreen: use sunscreen cream daily whether the sky in your area is cloudy or not. It protects your skin from ultraviolet rays and prevents damage to your skin including cancer. Having and maintaining good health depends partly on our habits. Mostly, healthy habits determine whether we are in good health or not.
And when I say habits, I mean just what you do every day like protecting yourself from the hot sun, exercise, staying hydrated, eating well and sleeping well. The successful development of these habits will surely help you live a healthier and longer life since the benefits are endless like toned muscles, healthy weight, and a healthy heart.
