Galaxy S8: Samsung launches a beta test of Android 8.0 Oreo today

Samsung has announced on its official website that it will launch today a beta test for Android Oreo Galaxy S8 and S8 + today.  A beta test that unfortunately only concerns the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea, but which already allows to know what new products will be introduced, as well as to see what will look like future emojis of this bet up to date.

Android updates of Samsung smartphones are usually quite simple. The Korean manufacturer launches a beta test program of the latest version of Android during the end of the current year, and then deploys the final update during the beginning of next year. A schedule that concerns, unfortunately, only its latest flagships, namely Galaxy S8 / S8 + and Galaxy Note 8.

A beta test program for the Galaxy S8 and S8 + only

According to Fame Africa TV, today, Samsung has just announced the launch of a beta test phase of Android 8.0 Oreo and its next interface, Samsung Experience 9.0, for the Galaxy S8 and S8 +. This program currently only concerns the United States, the United Kingdom and South Korea. To register, there are two solutions: either download the Samsung + application or through Samsung Members. These will then allow to participate in the program. It will also be fast: the principle of first come, first served is in force and places are limited.

The arrival of this beta program means that the beta Android Oreo for Galaxy S8 and S8 + will soon be available on the web. The most motivated users will always be able to install it without having to go through Samsung’s applications (at their own risk).

An interface that changes little, but new features and especially new emojis

On Reddit, the first members of the Galaxy S8 sub-forum have started to publish the first screenshots of this update. The new features seem to be few, but we can see a menu settings a little more convenient than before, new notification options and the arrival of an automatic filling feature within applications.

Finally, and this is especially the main interest of this update, new emojis will be available. Among them, the long-awaited “mind blow” or the vomiting emoji, perfect for your contacts who ask you if you are motivated to accompany them to O’Tacos.
