The events happening in the world today really seem to compound the spirit of thankfulness.
I have friends on Facebook who write posts everyday about what they are thankful for. I have not jumped on that bandwagon because I don’t write things on Facebook everyday. But that does not mean that I’m not thankful.
I am very thankful for so many different things in my life.
I am thankful for my parents and grandparents for giving me wonderful memories and setting good examples for me and for raising me to be a strong, independent person.
I am thankful for my siblings. They continue to be a shelter to me during life’s stormy moments.
I am thankful for my husband. He is so many different things in my life that I could never imagine life without him. He is my one true love.
I am thankful for our home. It may be tiny, but it’s cozy and it’s ours and it is truly our little mountain haven. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else!
I am thankful for my son. The greatest blessing of my life. He has brought so much to my life the past 23 years, I could write a book! I know if there was ever a purpose to my life it was simply to be his mother.
I am thankful for Kayla, because she completes our family. She is the perfect match to Russ and she loves him so much. They are wonderful together.
I am thankful that I am free to live the life that I have now. I work when I chose. I am able to do the things that I really and truly love and I have a wonderful support system that sees that!
I’m thankful for many, many other things: random acts of kindness, peanut butter, the mountains we call home, the beauty that God has blessed us with that is all around us even though sometimes we have to look a little harder to see it.
I’m thankful everyday, not just one day a year. How about you – what are you thankful for?
