WHY DOES SPOTIFY PAUSE BY ITSELF

If you want to know why Spotify pauses itself and doesn’t let you listen to your favorite songs, we show you reasons and possible solutions.

It may have happened to you more than once. You are listening to your favorite music, and it suddenly stops playing. What can be caused by this? Why does Spotify pause by itself? The reality is that it is a problem that can have many different causes. Being a multiplatform tool, the solution can be one or the other depending on where you are using it.

The first thing you should be clear about is whether you have a good Internet connection. Keep in mind that unless you have a Premium account and you have downloaded a playlist, in principle, you cannot listen to music on Spotify unless you have an Internet connection. Therefore, the most common reason why your favorite song may have suddenly paused is that you had a micro-cut in the connection that prevented it.

To ensure this, the easiest thing is to try to do some other action on the Internet from the device on which you are listening to music. If you see that the network works perfectly for everything else, it is clear that the problem lies elsewhere. And the different issues that will make you wonder why Spotify pauses can only depend on the device you are using.

SPOTIFY PAUSES ONLY ON PC

If you have found that Spotify pauses only on PC and it is not a connection problem, we recommend checking if you have any pending software updates. When we use a very old version of the program, it is easier to give us a bug.

It would be best to keep in mind that you can only use your Spotify account on one device. Therefore, if someone else starts playing music on a different device, whatever you listen to on your PC will be paused. If you have not given access to your account to any other person, be careful because we could be talking about a hack.

If you see that someone is entering your Spotify account without your permission, you must contact the company through their chat service. They are usually quite fast in solving these types of problems, and if this is the cause of the problem why Spotify pauses itself even though it may seem like a headache, it will be solved quickly. It is a problem that occurs more frequently in Premium accounts since it would not make much sense to hack a free account.

SPOTIFY PAUSES ONLY ON IPHONE AND ANDROID

If your problem is that Spotify pauses only on iPhone and Android, the problem may be similar to what we find on PC. It is possible that it is a failure in your Internet connection or that someone is accessing your account from another site. And if it is an application problem, it may also be solved simply by updating to the latest version.

But before reaching these solutions, we recommend that you also try to clear the application cache. To do this, you must go to Applications> Spotify> Storage> Clear cache. These cache problems tend to occur more often when we have little free storage space on our devices. Therefore, we recommend that you take the opportunity to do a little cleaning and delete those files that you have on your smartphone and do not use it.

CHECK THE POWER-SAVING MODE

The power save function may be on, causing the song to stop. So in theory, if you turn off the phone’s power-saving feature the problem will be fixed. To know how to disable the power-saving feature of your phone, follow the steps mentioned below.

Note:   The process may vary for different smartphones, but the general steps are the same.

  • Open the phone Settings by clicking on the gear icon.
  • Go to the battery option.
  •  Click on the three dots located in the right corner of the screen and select the Optimize battery usage option.

Tap on the non-optimized apps and select the All apps option from the drop-down menu. Now, scroll down and find the Spotify app, turn off the toggle option if it’s on.

Your problem will be fixed after allowing Spotify to run in the background without any restrictions.
